Hello, wonderful people!!!

It’s been approximately forever since I last blogged. So much has happened since last time!!

…Actually, not really. I’d say the most exciting thing that happened was me giving my puppy a bath. WHOOP WHOOP!! He behaves quite well during his baths, so I really do like to give them to him. And he looks all cute and pitiful when he’s soaking wet. :3

Oh, and I also went to the library the other day. I actually go to the library quite often, just to look at books or to check out movies. The librarians might have me on their crazy list because I’m there ALL THE TIME.

Anyways, I went to the library to pick up a book I had on hold, and I ended up checking out about seven books because they all looked interesting and I haven’t read a real book in a while (I read manga, usually–I like the pictures…). Has anyone ever done that, or is it just me? I have a feeling I’m going to end up returning most of the books without even reading them simply because I don’t have time.

BUT, I am actually reading a real book right now–Flowers for Algernon. I read it a few years ago, and it’s one of my favorites. On top of that, I’m reading Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. So, I guess I do actually read real books… Sometimes…

Nowww, onto writing. I’m going to lay off talking about my book for a while and just talk about writing in general. For any of you writers out there, I’d love to hear where you get your ideas, what you do to help you write when you hit a stumbling block, and what your favorite subject is to write about. I’m really wanting to get with some writers and just have a writing party (or something) because I think it would be awesome to read other peoples’ work, and I think it would definitely help me to strengthen my own! Plus, I like to talk to people who enjoy the same things I do. It makes me happy. (:

Also, I’m in a creative writing class and one of the assignments was to rewrite one of the well-known Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales. I chose Rapunzel just because I haven’t ever heard a retelling of it. I mean, there’s like fifty Cinderella stories. But Rapunzel stories? None (that I know of). So I decided to write one. Speaking of fairy tales, I really enjoy reading the retellings of classic fairy tales. I like Alex Flinn’s writing style and the modern-day spin she puts on the fairy tales…Speaking of which, I think she has a new book out. I should go read it. (:

Well, that’s it for tonight.  I hope you have a wonderful week. Thanks for reading!

Farewell to all,

B.H. Parker
